EX-Chennai Super Kings and Pune Warriors spinner, Rahul Sharma lost his father due to Corona virus. The spinner informed about this news on his Twitter account. Rahul made his first class debut in 2006 for Punjab. He got selected for Deccan Chargers in the IPL in 2010. He last played an international game in 2012. He informed about his father’s death in a Twitter post.
He wrote: “Sharma saab Jaldi kr gye yar.. maaf kr deyo baccha nai skyaa thuanu Iss corona to, without u life not same Dad.. everything I learn from You in my life, your fighting spirit, willpower, hardwork, dedication love u forever Dad raaba take care of my dad#covid RIP”
He did another tweet he also said that he will fulfill his father’s dream of playing for India again.
Wriddhiman Saha wrote this on his Twitter post: “Sorry to hear this. May his soul RIP.”
Rahul was impressive when he burst on to the scene but his career was marked by an unfortunate incident. He and South African Wayne Parnell were detained by Mumbai Police in a drugs case in 2012. Both cricketers were involved in a rave party. He was charged in 2013 but made a brilliant comeback in 2013 for India A. He was picked by CSK also in 2015 but he didn’t get a place in the playing XI.
Although Rahul has looked good in domestic competitions, the Indian team now has some brilliant spinners like Ashwin, Kuldeep, Axar, etc. So, to find a place in the Indian team as a spinner is difficult.
Fans across India are paying their respect after the loss of the cricketer’s father.
